The ability to grind hardened steel and powdered metal cams without metallurgical damage, elevates Research Abrasive wheels far above the performance of conventional wheels. Our wheels are state-of-the-art in a wide range of camshaft processes. Cost per piece produced is a small fraction of the cost by either conventional or superabrasive wheels. Plastic bonded cam wheels are currently in production at surface speeds up to 80m/s (16,000 sfpm).
